Current release — Bongani Vincent
Basquiat Clone series, 2025
The series is a tongue-in-cheek response to the growing number of so-called “Basquiat clones” appearing online. Rather than making paintings that resemble Basquiat’s work, Bongani Vincent made works that don’t look like Basquiat at all. The title is the joke — a playful commentary on originality, influence, and how quickly artists are labelled in the contemporary art world.
Each work drops from R29 700 to R16 200. If you’ve been thinking about adding an original work to your collection, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one at nearly half the exhibition price.
